At National Athletics Academy, participant safety is our highest operating standard. We adhere strictly to the safeguards recommended by Sask Sport, the Coaching Association of Canada, and sport safety frameworks.
Every child in Regina deserves a secure, encouraging, and abuse-free sporting environment. NAA enforces these three core safety protocols without exception:
In Saskatchewan, youth sports operate under the Sask Sport Respect in Sport (RiS) framework. Required for all NAA coaches and activity leaders, 100% of NAA coaches, assistant coaches, and administrative personnel must hold active Respect in Sport Activity Leader certification prior to stepping onto the court or field.
All coaches, instructors, and volunteers working with youth participants undergo thorough Criminal Record Checks with Vulnerable Sector Screening (CRC-VSS) through the Regina Police Service or local RCMP detachments.
NAA follows the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) Rule of Two: interactions between coaches and participants always take place in open, observable settings with two screened adults present, never one-on-one behind closed doors.
Sport should build resilience, not risk. NAA maintains rigorous on-site health standards across all gymnasium, turf, and martial arts facilities in Regina:
Follows Parachute Canada & Sask Sport Concussion Protocol. When in doubt, the athlete sits out — mandatory physician clearance required before Return-to-Play.
Every active training block has a designated First Aid / CPR certified lead coach with fully inspected first-aid kits on site.
Specific emergency procedures, AED locations, and emergency contacts documented for each Regina school and fieldhouse venue.
NAA offers MMA fundamentals (striking, grappling, self-defence) strictly as skill development, discipline, and fitness — never unsanctioned fighting.
